How to cope with your Mum!
Ok ladies, it’s a common problem, your mum / mother-in-law to be, wants to invite all of her friends to your wedding. The problem is that you don’t have the space / budget / inclination to invite them!
Yes it’s your day and of course it should be all about you, but give your mums a break, after you and your husband-to-be, the next most I important people are the parents. It is a huge event in the life of any parent and it’s natural they want to show you off and celebrate this momentous occasion.
The question is how to give everyone what they want and keep the peace!
We think we’ve found the answer….
We have just returned from throwing an afternoon Vintage tea Party! Hosted by the mother of the bride, at her home, surrounded by her friends and of course the bride and groom to be. Wedding is 2 weeks away, everyone had a wonderful, relaxed afternoon. We arrived with all of the essentials, a selection of teas, sandwiches, scones and pastries. Complete with bunting, table cloths and of course our stunning vintage china. Everything is included, we don’t even need to use your kettle! You supply a table and enough friends and family to eat our sumptuous afternoon tea and we’ll do everything else.
We’ll leave your house the way we found it, your friends full and content and your mum feeling involved and happy, the proud hostess.
Whatton House & Gardens Open Day
One of the best parts of my job is talking to bride-to-be’s about their ideas for their big day which I got to do plenty of this weekend at Whatton House & Gardens Open Day. I’d never been before and the venue did not disappoint, an idyllic country house garden.
Aside from the obvious benefits to exhibiting I also love meeting other companies in the industry, especially when I come across something different and today I met Oliver & Charlotte from the Poppy Trading Company. They are taking vintage styling to a whole new level and I love it! Forget about bringing the outdoors in, they take the indoors out, creating a vintage living room in your marquee or even better in the middle of the field! You can find a link to the website on the ‘some of our friends’ page.
Vintage styling means different things to different people, at Vintage Party we cater for all tastes so whether you’re looking to create an afternoon tea party, a shabby chic country fete or a more glamorous vintage dining experience please contact us, we’d love to create it for you.
